Welcome...

In 1965, the United States Congress established a series of programs to help students overcome class, social and cultural barriers to higher education.  These programs, referred to as the TRIO Programs, help low-income Americans enter college, graduate and move on to participate more fully in America's economic and social life.

The aim of DCCES is to sponsor a variety of enrichment programs and activities to support TRIO students and professional staff in the District of Columbia throughout each year.

Key objectives of DCCES include:

  • Expanding the TRIO Partnership Base

  • Assisting in Student and Staff Recruitment

  • Assisting in Alumni Development

  • Coordinating DC-Wide TRIO Activities

  • Working Closely with Government Advocates

  • Coordinating Annual Conferences

  • Publishing Periodic Newsletters and Program Directories

  • Sponsoring Peer Mentorship Activities

Purpose
The purpose of the District of Columbia Consolidation for Educational Services (DCCES) is to coordinate local efforts and improve the quality of educational services for academically, culturally, and economically disadvantaged youth and adults in the District of Columbia and the Metropolitan area.
